Jacobs quotes author Meyer on Trimble:
“It was pretty amazing. I looked up and did a double take. ‘Aren’t you?Sam?’ I asked. Solomon laughed and agreed that he was. He had a couple of technical werewolf questions for me (ex. ‘Can werewolves phase underwater?’ Answer: ‘Yes’) and I tried to control my enthusing. Solomon was super friendly and interesting, and though he looks awesome on film, he’s even more incredible in person. His features are just so stunning!”
The Quileute Tribe extends a cordial welcome to all to join them during the Quileute Days celebration, which features aspects of the tribe’s cultural heritage and modern lifestyle. Featured are a traditional salmon bake, Quileute arts and crafts, dancing and songs, adult and youth softball tournaments, parade and a fireworks display.

Vampires Lure Fans to Olympic Peninsula

The Peninsula Daily News of Port Angeles has an article and video about the influx of tourism to the Olympic Peninsula. Marcia Bingham of the Forks Chamber of Commerce lists the ever increasing number of visitors to the Forks area. Marcia, whom many of us have had the pleasure to meet on our visits, says “The best thing about this is that people say they are coming to Forks because of Twilight, but they say they will come back because of Forks,”. I personally could not agree more! See the article here.

How Twilight has Changed Forks

The Peninsula Daily News has a new article on the changing face of Forks . Twilight has brought thousands of visitors from around the world to this rainy corner of the continental US. Thanks to Twilight the beauty of Forks, La Push and the rest of the Olympic Peninsula have been brought to light to millions around the world.

Residents (of Forks) are showing a tolerant, slightly amused face to visitors and often recognize the plight of their photo-happy visitors and offer to snap a picture of a group of tourists.

Their indulgence is being paid off with return visits and acknowledgement that this part of the county is both beautiful and quite unique.
…..
Forks is grateful to be the cloudy, mysterious and soggy site for Bella, Edward and Jacob to establish their bonds and immortalize Clallam County.

Actual Forks Pictures to be Featured in Directors Book?

According to Chris Cook, Editor with the Forks Forum, there have been several requests for pictures from the area to be included in Catherine Hardwicke’s Twilight – Directors Notebook:

Photos and photo permissions of Twilight-related images were sought in January from Forks sources including the Forks Forum. The City of Forks was asked to give permission for use of the landmark Welcome to Forks sign, and the sign appears on an advance release copy of the book’s cover. Photos of a visit by Hardwicke to Forks High School were also requested from the high school. The Forks Forum provided photos of Hardwicke and members of her production staff scouting locations at First Beach at LaPush in Jan. 2008. In addition, Twilight producer Jamie Marshall requested a copy of the Forks Forum from late Jan. 2008 that featured Hardwicke at First Beach on the front page.

No word has been received noting which, if any, of the photos made the book beyond the City of Forks sign.

Downtown Forks stores that handle Twilight items are planning ahead for the Twilight DVD release. Annette Root, co-owner of the Dazzled by Twilight store on N. Forks Avenue, told the Forks Chamber of Commerce meeting held Wednesday, Feb. 4, that she is planning an event the night of Friday, March 20. She is renting the Rainforest Arts Center to handle the overflow crowd she is
